Seven Wonders
By: Ben Mezrich

I was looking for a book to read this week, my Mom recommended Seven Wonders. I said yes, seeing that Ben Mezrich, an author I liked, had written it. I had also read his books previously, making 2 book reviews on Wooly and Charlie Numb3rs and the Man in the Moon. I read it in a day and want to share a review about the book.

In the book it starts off with an MIT student named Jeremy making an extraordinary discovery. The shape of 6 of the ancient and 6 of the modern wonders of the world were shown as a double helix! Yet as he finds this out, he gets murdered. Meanwhile a botanist named Sloane in the Colosseum finds a mechanical snake in a double helix after brushing away the vines. Jeremy’s brother, Jack, finds a thumb drive on the scene of the crime which leads him on an adventure to find out the truth about the wonders of the world. But danger lurks around every corner, and when an organization of Amazon-like Woman start trying to assasinate Jack and his friends, he knows that he has to be careful with where his trust is placed.

I feel that Jack is adventurous. He is adventurous because he didn’t say, “Let’s get out of here!” when girls started trying to assassinate him. He just told everyone to be more careful and watch out for more people like them. His sense of adventure lead him to sneak into the murder site and find the thumb drive, which contained the double helix to immediately set him off on his journey to find clues and finally solve the mystery of the helix. Jack continued to have his adventurous attitude when he fought the assassins and beat them a lot, though he said it was mostly raw luck which let him win. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of all the immense action scenes.
