The Superlife Of Ben Braver

The Superlife of Ben Braver

The Superlife of Ben Braver is a book where Ben Braver, a kid who is having a normal summer, wants to get a peanut butter cup. He hears a kid screaming for help when he is going to the peanut butter cup, so he goes toward the voice. He sees the bully, a kid named Dexter Dunn, teasing a girl named Caden by holding her dog and not giving her dog back to her even though it is her property. As he tries to get the dog back, Dexter’s eyes disappear until only his sockets remain. Then the air chills around Ben and everything goes black. The president of the academy, Donald Kepler, says that he has powers, so he goes into an academy for kids with powers. It actually turns out that Ben doesn’t have any powers, which makes you think why Donald chose him for his academy.

My favorite character is Noah because his superpower is controlling and burping fireballs. The element of burping makes him a little funny when he does it. Another reason I like Noah is that he is Ben’s #1 friend along with Penny, a girl who has the power to communicate with rodents using a ukulele. Since Ben is the main character, you see him a lot in the story. My favorite part in the story is when Ben farts while trying to find his superpower. All of the humor and action, like when they use their powers, make this book a 5 star book.
