In Amulet #2: The Stonekeeper’s Curse, Emily and her brother Navin, enter the bustling city of Kanalis inside a giant moving house. They end up in Kanalis because they are known for medicine and Emily’s mom got stung by an arachnopod, which are poisonous. The doctor tells them that the only medicine is a fruit from a gadoba tree, which are only found on top of Demon’s Head Mountain. Not only that, but for every 1 fruit that cures you, 100 will kill you. On top of all of that, the elves are trying to hunt down and kill Emily. Will Emily survive with all of this chaos happening? Pick up the book to find out!
My favorite part in the book is the part where Emily and Leon fight Luger. I like the part because Trellis can’t take how Luger treats him wrongly and he fights him. This saves Emily’s life because he was about to execute her, but then Luger turns into a giant and Emily falls off of a cliff. Navin then saves her inside the huge moving machine house by grabbing her. The house tries to fight the giant, but loses. Navin then begs limp Emily to wake up and help them destroy the giant. She wakes up and infuses the machine with power so that Navin can restart the machine and win the fight. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of how the author makes a well-developed story to make a great book.
