Into The Gauntlet Book Review

Into The Gauntlet

By: Margaret Peterson Haddix

I have read the series The 39 Clues many times and my favorite book is always the last one called Into The Gauntlet. Into The Gauntlet is about two children named Dan and Amy who are on a hunt for 39 clues. These 39 clues, when put together, can be made into a serum to make you ruler of the world. The creator of the serum, Gideon Cahill, had 4 children who each took a forth of the serum and where good at different things. Luke was very smart, Jane was artistic, Katherine was a engineer, and Thomas was athletic. The relatives of Amy and Dan are also hunting for the prize and some are willing to kill to get it.

My favorite part in the book is when Isabel Kabra, a contender in the clue hunt and a descendant of Luke Cahill, shoots her daughter Natalie. She does so when she and her brother Ian refuse to cooperate with her to become the rulers of the world. It's a good part of the book because there is lots of pressure on the people who come into the Madrigal’s secret base. When they get there, they find that Isabel Kabra has their family members tied up to tombs. Isabel Kabra forces everyone who came into the gauntlet to give up their clues, or she will blow up their family members with dynamite. This makes you worry if they will survive or not! This book is rated 5 out of 5 stars. I rate it that because to find the 39 clues they have to follow strings of clues that lead them to the final clue.
