First Appearance of Mr. Couch Bunny

In One Mixed-Up Night, a boy named Walter and a girl named Frankie have a secret plan to spend a night at Ikea doing all kinds of things. When the Ikea closes, none of the cleaners find them and they make it through the first phase of their plan. The two friends decide to have a fun night by eating a snack (cake), making a couch tower, and ziplining. Then the security cop named Shirley finds the two kids after they accidentally start a fire and tells them that they should explain themselves. She doesn't scream at them, but tells them that she will pay for the damage as long as they pay money to an organization to help runaway teens.

I like the book because Walter and Frankie do so many crazy things together such as ziplining, which makes the story fun to read. I also like that in the book Shirley is not saying they’re doing a very bad thing. Instead she tries to figure out why they stayed at Ikea and finds out about Walter’s dad’s death. The tragedy that happened is a topic of conversation for the characters. It adds emotion to the story, which is a good element for the reader to feel. However, I didn’t like that they at times just talked and there was no action or excitement. To find out more about this tragedy, pick up a copy of the book today.
