The Knowledge Box Book Review

The Knowledge Box

Last Christmas I got a great gift from my grandparents. When I opened the rather large present, I got a box of interesting nonfiction books in The Knowledge Box. The Knowledge Box is a box with many different facts about different subjects put in a series of books. The books are put in tiny chapters that consist of two pages and show different subjects. In the box there are 10 different books to read.
  • The first book is called Ancient Civilizations and is about the ancient world, the first humans, the first towns, and early empires. My favorite fact is that the ruler of ancient Greece, Alexander the Great, never in his life lost a battle.
  • The second book is called The Modern World and is about the age of discovery, voyage to the americas, ancient americas, and the renaissance. In the book I learned that in the civil war the confederacy had its own flag, currency, president, and capital.
  • The third book is called Animal Life and is about birds, reptiles, mammals, and crocodiles. I personally enjoyed learning about animal habitats.
  • The fourth book is called Matter and Forces and is about matter, atoms and molecules, forces, and the elements. The chapter that was most interesting to read was chemical reactions which explained how fireworks work.
  • The fifth book is called Energy and Electricity and is about energy, light, sound, and heat. The best chapter to read was called power network and shows that you can use solar power, hydroelectric power, fossil fuels, nuclear power, geothermal power, and wind power to power homes.
  • The sixth book is called Explore Space and is about galaxies, star birth, star death, and the moon. A fact I learned about the Milky Way is that it formed 9 billion years after the big bang.
  • The seventh book is called Discover Earth and is about caves, glaciers, volcanoes, and plate tectonics. My favorite chapter is earthquakes and I learned that earthquakes under water cause tsunamis.
  • The eighth book is called Life on Earth and is about plant life, insects, fish, and how life began. I liked learning about the timeline of life and what creatures there were on The Earth.
  • The ninth book is called Human Body Basics and is about the blood, the skin, air supply, and the heart. I learned that antibody cells make antibodies to go on bacteria so they get eaten by cells called macrophages.
  • The tenth book is called The Body At Work and is about the life cycle, a new life, nervous system, and taste and smell. A fact I learned is that we start out as a cell as big as half a period.
That is a list of some things you might find in the books. If you are interested in nonfiction then The Knowledge Box is for you. I rate this series 5 out of 5 stars.
