Rutabaga The Adventure Chef Book Review

Rutabaga
The Adventure Chef

By Eric Colossal

I got Rutabaga : The Adventure Chef at my school’s library. I was like “If it’s weird and funny I’m in!” When I read Rutabaga : The Adventure Chef, I liked that Rutabaga is characterized as a goof. He is a harmless chef while his friends are adventurers. The adventurers battle a dragon with weapons while Rutabaga uses expanding mushrooms. Once he even barfs gold! (Long story!)

In Rutabaga : The Adventure Chef, the main character is Rutabaga who is a chef who got bored with normal food and is searching for new and interesting recipes to make. Rutabaga has a dream to open a cool restaurant where he can wow people with his creations of food. Rutabaga meets some friends on his quest like Winn the adventurer and Pot, a cauldron that can move and helps Rutabaga cook. He also meets enemies like the Koraknis and the chef of the Rusty Goat, Cookie. The Koraknis is killed by his friends, while Cookie turns out not to be so bad and ends up Rutabaga’s friend.

The book is divided into 4 parts of Rutabaga’s quest. In the first part, Rutabaga meets Winn. In the second part, he travels and goes to the kingdom of Highmore and helps the king with his pet who is a picky eater. In the third part, Rutabaga goes to the Rusty Goat and has a cookoff with Cookie. Finally in the fourth part he heads north to Grey Falls Mountains where he watches his friends kill the Koraknis. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
